Third-party event strategy
How should an AI company choose third-party events?
Start with the accounts and opportunities the business needs to reach. Total attendance comes later.
Choose third-party events by comparing the attendee profile with the company's target accounts, buyer roles and active opportunities. Then decide what the event must accomplish before selecting the sponsorship package.
Start with the revenue plan
Identify the markets, accounts and opportunities the business needs to advance. If an event does not create useful access to those priorities, it does not belong in the portfolio.
Look past the attendance number
Ask which priority accounts and buyer roles are likely to attend, why they will be there and whether the environment supports a real conversation.
Price the whole opportunity
The booth is only one part of the investment. Partner meetings, executive dinners, customer content, private demos and account-team programs may be more valuable than expo traffic.
Give the event one primary job
Decide whether the program should create opportunities, accelerate existing ones, deepen a partner relationship or establish credibility in a new market. That job should determine the spend.
